About the Calgary Business Hall of Fame

 
Established by Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta (JASA) in 2004, the Calgary Business Hall of Fame honours the lifetime achievements of southern Alberta's most distinguished citizens, outstanding individuals who have helped shape our province through their business success, entrepreneurial spirit and philanthropic contributions serving as role models for society.

Nominated by their peers, inductees are chosen by an independent selection committee managed by Korn/Ferry International. A partner, supporting JASA through the Calgary Business Hall of Fame, Korn/Ferry oversees the inductee nomination process and selection committee.

Net proceeds from the Calgary Business Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony benefit youth participating in Junior Achievement business, finance and citizenship programs.

In the 2008 – 2009 school year, over 1,100 volunteers delivered valuable JA programs, free of charge, to over 20,000 students living and learning throughout southern Alberta. With the help of corporate and community partners and this prestigous fundraiser event, JASA is able to continue to deliver valuable programs to those 20,000 students, and has been able to expand their reach throughout southern Alberta.

Now it is critical that today's youth, the leaders of tomorrow, are equipped with the skills they require to succeed in the increasingly competitive global economy. In spite of the current economic climate, JASA remains vital and relevant in 2010. With your support we are confident that we will continue to build a strong business education and financial literacy platform for the benefit of future generations.
