Junior Achievement has major benefit

It was business unusual for many Calgary executives who attended a dinner to support Junior Achievement this month. The evening focused on the legacy of three visionary leaders: Edward Galvin, James Palmer and Donald Taylor, all of whom were inducted into the Calgary Business Hall of Fame that night.
A cocktail reception preceded the dinner and induction ceremony, which took place in the Hyatt's Imperial Ballroom. Prominent figures included Arlene Dickinson, president of Venture Communications; Richard George, president of Suncor; Michael Mezei, president of Mawer Investment; Ric McIver, city alderman; and Gretchen Bell-Dinning, daughter of Max Bell.

Calgary Business Hall of Fame – 2008
November 5, 2008 marked the fifth Calgary Business Hall of Fame Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremony, hosted by Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta (JASA). This year's event enjoyed record attendance with the Imperial Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency filled to capacity in honour of the 2008 Laureates. National news anchor, Mr. Peter Mansbridge, emceed the night leading the induction of three Calgarians renowned for their outstanding commitment to the organizations they have built and the communities in which they live: Mr. James S. Palmer, Mr. Donald Taylor and Mr. Edward Galvin (posthumously).

Calgary Business Hall of Fame
CALGARY - May 9th, 2008 –
One of Canada's top legal minds, the man behind Engineered Air, and an oil and gas legend are the 2008 laureates for the Calgary Business Hall of Fame. Arlene Dickinson announced that James S. Palmer, Donald J. Taylor and Edward Galvin (posthumously) are the newest inductees honoured today at a luncheon hosted by Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta at the Hyatt Regency.
"These three Alberta pioneers are true community leaders," said Scott Hillier, President and CEO of Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta (JASA). "They have set the benchmark for corporate excellence as both citizens and mentors in our global community. It is through their example as well as current Laureates that we set the standard for induction to the Calgary Business Hall of Fame."
